The wide variety of products and projects in the Design Explorer ranges from bathroom fittings to websites and even cars. It offers a lot of inspiration for designing one’s own living environment.

In addition to impressive photos of products and projects, it also provides details of designers, architects and clients. The jury’s statement also highlights why a product or project received an award.

The main feature of the Design Explorer is the voting function, which allows you to vote for your favourite design objects. During the first voting, all products and projects from the German Design Award 2016 are included. Further voting will then take place on various topics at regular intervals.

About the German Design Council
Since its foundation on the initiative of the German Bundestag in 1953, the German Design Council has had the mission of representing the German design scene on the highest level. It has thereby developed into one of the world’s leading centres of expertise for brands and design. The German Design Council is the organiser of many national and international design competitions. In addition to the German Design Award, the institution also organises industry-specific competitions such as the Automotive Brand Contest or the Iconic Awards. Besides, the magazine ‘designreport’ was set up by the German Design Council since 1972. The foundation Stiftung Deutsches Design Museum, established by the German Design Council, promotes and communicates design to a wide audience.
